Monday Morning for Newspapers.
It's one of those in between Melbourne days (Derby Day Saturday gone - Melbourne Cup tomorrow) making email quite locally, but not from those in Sydney. Gotta say I totally agree with Jason Calacanis re newspapers and the opportunity. Blog related businesses make alot more sense connected to the world of newspapers. (and vice versa)
JC : "Sometimes I wish I was unemployed, because if I was I would get my own investment group together and start buying a couple of these distressed properties and turn them around. This is one of the best opportunities in business today..."
NYT on GOOG's 50 newspaper ad auction trial : “We have tens of thousands of advertisers we deal with face to face,” said Michael C. Lemke, the senior vice president for sales and marketing of The Seattle Times, which is participating in the test. “They are talking about an exponentially larger base that can do business on a self-serve basis. These are clients that metropolitan newspapers have a hard time getting to.”"
