Melbourne VS Collingwood - The Web 2.0 of Football Matches

Today was such an amazing day (till i got home exhausted but adrenalised, oops) - After spending a long weekend on UI glitches on our other related 'structured' project, checking hundreds of submitted gnoos sites, it was awesome to be with 78,700+ people at the MCG for Melbourne vs Collingwood : with a perfect view of the game and Crown Lager on tap.

Melbourne came out of the blocks and never stopped, although Collingwood always kicked a goal in the last 30 seconds of each quarter. It was probably the best game I've ever been to for overall enjoyment, atmosphere, and result. (not like we have won a grand final since i was born !) Melbourne won by 47 points and kicked 21 goals, it's highest of the season (and it didnt have its awful 3rd quarter today for first time !) Why did Saint Frank pick otherwise ? He must have misinterpreted a message from above...

Byron Pickett they are rightly saying after the game (on Demonland) may be our best recruit ever, along with Aaron Flash Davey who is amazing. (davey on radio after prodding says he was once clocked at 10.8 seconds for 100M although he is very humble/modest and tiny in person ie he may be faster) It was amazing today that we didnt even miss Brock McLean and Whelan - Our backline was superb (backbone of our game - Rivers tore it up today as did Chopper Carroll - and Ben Holland is back taking out Rocca today - only one goal from a dodgey umpire decision, and he got Gehrig last week) and Travis Johnstone, the Rolls Royce had the most amazing second half after a flat first. We have real depth now.

Not often Malthouse says : "Let's face the facts. Melbourne was fantastic. Smacked us in nearly every department.. If we use tiredness off the ball, that does an injustice to Melbourne. The simple fact was Melbourne were just far better in delivery, run, smartness, clearances … and you can't give them the ball anywhere near 50 because they will knock it over."

The other kewl thing today was I think a record for outside 50 goals for a team : It was a pleasure to watch the balls sailing through from 51-65 : Matthew Bate kicked a great one, as did Neiter. Neil Daniher was rightly happy.

Danners : "We knew we had to improve our defence," he said. "I think they want to improve because they enjoy playing with each other. They want to be part of it, where the team's heading and be part of something exciting."

JoeBoy, BB et al MashupUp on Demonland
Bell - made fundamental errors.. 2/10- Not a great game, got dragged early. (BB : Not a great game, was on Didak and got carved up till dragged, which Daniher took too long to do, but still an athletic tall back pocket : 2/10)
Carroll - in total control.. 8/10- He is a beast. (BB : The Choppa Mad Man, has changed our backline : 9/10)
Holland - a sensational performance... 9/10- Terrific game, Rocca had no chance. (BB : Rocca only got one goal from a free kick that wasnt there : 8/10)
Ward - not at best.. 6/10- Deserves to keep his spot, played pretty well. (BB : Had a few good runs down the wing but a few turnovers/errors. Not bad. 6/10)
Rivers - the perfect defender.. 8/10- A star. (BB : What a gun game. Many on MMM were saying BOG. Roamed marked and attacked all day : Kicked his first goal in AFL after 47 games or so : 9/10)
Yze - better when forward.. 7/10- Fairly quiet but kicked some great goals, he is a dangerous foward with supurb skills. (BB : Quite day and kicks 4 goals - kicked a soccergoal from the air 35 metres out. World Cup)
Green - prolific not outstanding.. 6/10- Didnt have much impact on the game. (BB : Didnt and dont notice him much these days but he did provide a few inside 50 passes that were perfect that became goals. 6/10)
Johnstone - wonderful ball carrier.. 8/10- A great game by Trapper, he is in super form. (BB : Amazing second half - 9/10 for normal people comparison.)
McDonald - battled all day.. 6/10- Didnt seem to get as much game time but did well when on the field. (BB : Quite day. 5/10)
Bartram - relentless but loose.. 5/10- Did alright but yeah, to lose on Davis. Still a great no. 52 pick. (BB : Part of the new brigade - good player and tagged well. 6/10)
Davey - totally unstoppable today.. 8/10- He is a Freak. (BB : Amazing to watch, the double highest tackler from a forward, great to see after some quite 2 weeks. Him and Pickett rock as a team)
Pickett - what a champion.. 8/10- Possibly my fav player, he is a champion and I love it when he gets the ball. (BB : probably most skillful impactful player out there with TJ. takes on players and never stuffs up. 9/10)
Dunn - unsure but effective.. 6/10- Will become a good player. (BB : Part of new brigade did some very good things without being a standout. Will become a great goal kicking CHF. Sandy for Miller or the flank anyway)
Johnson - poor when pressured.. 4/10- Didnt get much game time and when he was on, I was pretty dissapointed in him. (BB : CJ is fast and also a new brigade boy, all good CJ)
White - proved his worth.. 8/10- Super in the ruck and around the field. His ground work is very good as well which is great for a tall fellow. (BB : Cant believe Josh Fraser tried to wave/bird him... what an idiot, Jeff White plays off like a handicap of 1 at Royal Melbourne. Today he was great, after first quarter even in ruck duel. 8/10)
Jamar - best ruckman afield.. 7/10- Ruck work was great, defenetly our number 2 ruckman. (BB : Awesome again, Jamar rucks, goes back goes forward, he's a legend in the making. The Big Russian. Sam Newman called it. 7/10)
Neitz - wonderful first half.. 7/10- His 2nd and 3rd efforts are second to no-one. A great leader. (BB : Yup Neitz is back, Melbourne kicked to him alot and why not today ! 7/10)
Robertson - was well beaten.. 2/10- BEaten easily by Clement. (BB : Very quite day. Injured off confidence too today. Took a great mark for his goal. 3/10)
Bate - showed fantastic endeavour.. 6/10- Looking good. (BB : Had an absolute ripper and great goal from outside 50 - 8/10)
Godfrey - cannot be retained.. 6/10- Did his job when on the field, that is all we can ask for. (BB : A couple of goal turnovers, but tagged well enough. Put Sylvia in next week for him though. 5/10)
Read - took his chance.. 7/10- Proved he wants a spot in the side and deserves to keep it for now. (BB : Read stood up today, did well 6/10)
Bruce - easily best afield.. 8/10- A fantastic game again. In a new role across Half back he was great. (BB : Melbourne High boy - what a legend - Him and TJ are quite different, great complements, ying and yang : 9/10)
