Tuesday is the one day The Australian and The Age/SMH, more so The Australian less these days Fairfax's Next, cover IT/Internet. (as well as Mark Jones getting as much coverage in AFR as possible) So there were some interesting articles today (doesnt the word article sound quaint vs post)

1. Australia and Microsoft's Scoble, Franky Blogfather Arrigo in The Australian finally put the robot rumours to rest : "Microsoft is made up of people like you and me. They have kids, and have mortgages." (The Australian, Mar 14, Business IT Section Front Page)

2. The Age IT section mentioned an interesting JV/partnership between Austereo (who with some basic "timeshifted" audio is doing 300k monthly poddownloads) and Sony BMG (Australia's big label ala Delta, Aussie Idol etc) for the launch of www.cranktv.com.au : vlogging or as they refer to it "internet music television station". It may be mainstream and the like, but it's an interesting partnership and at least they thought about Mac users when releasing. Good to see Sony doing something innovative downunder. And unlike Telstra who released a 'spitting spoof site' (yes no joke) on the same day as their "Blogging" business was announced with a coming soon message on the site. (The Age, Next, Mar 14 Page 2)

So its good to see 'pro' businesses like CrankTV up, and the design is better than other recent downunder JV's (red is the new black) such as Yahoo7. Anyone know who built, designed it, and what the deal structure is ?
