Top 10 "2006 Features to Flip" - #3 MySpace meets Linkedin
The Problem : They speak of 'user generated content' for Under 30's. What they really mean is myspace (and new offerings like tagworld) for 13-18 year olds, Facebook for 18-25 year olds, and then Linkedin for the white collar knowledge worker moving on up - But I cant actually do anything on Linkedin, from my page, once Ive uploaded my CV - other than send invites. Friendster is so passe Im wasting words by mentioning it. To use a feature film analogy, whats coming out this summer/winter ? (going into summer here...)
The Solution : I want a Social Networking (yes I used that catch-all term) which is more business minded than Friendster was, but less boring than Linkedin. It would provide me with a unique URL so I could drive people there, and it would have heaps of the latest kewl tools like Plazes, meebo, Riffs, Riya reformatted - so I could standout from the standard typepad, blogspot, wordpress "just another fkn boring weblog" - I'd use it.
