With blog networks its not the quality of the network, or the 'independent, yet complementary voices of a generation' within it, its not the deduplicated consumer reach, or effective CPC yields, or unique virtual 'sell side' advertiser marketplace facilitated. The point is to be in as many blog networks as possible. Join em. Start em. Sell em. Joint venture. Revenue share. Heck set up a Lab that looks at how consumers use blogs and click on blog advertising. This approach is very useful if you cant get a meeting or outcome you need, start a rumour - Hollywood style - and get people talking about your one 'coming soon' page/browser on the Internet. Remember to have a private beta of no more than 15 people, but dont let them write about the product or use any screenshots.

The best thing to do though is a variation on the Groucho Marx club, where no-one can join as the club doesn't exist. But it does exist, wink wink, nod nod.
