The Cuban Journalist Shock Jock Mashup
Woke up today and my knee was messed up with this arthritis thang (first time happened 2 years ago and a shot of cortizone after 6 months of pain fixed it, so ill need to get that done again), aagh. So it's The Ashes and Laptop for me today. Along with Cobras, Cuban, + Calacanis blog reading.
I enjoy the Billionaire Cuban's thoughts on newspapers at the moment and how to really compete and co-opt Google. It wouldn't surprise me if Cuban bought a newspaper and got Calacanis to CEO it. Now that would be funny in a good way esp the disc-jockey-journo mentoring. (how better to get TV people to feel they are superior...) The Blog Maverick thinks that journos should turn themselves into Video Podcasters. How 2007, hehe.
" Should the reporters be required to not only write a story, but also edit the audio and even video of an interview ? Absolutely. I recommend that Reporters have recorders for interviews (every one i do these days). Some interviews could easily be expanded to include video. EVERY reporter or columnist spend a morning with a disc jockey in a radio station. Watch how quickly and easily they edit together audio into a package they turnaround in seconds and put on air. Take a look at how easy it is to use basic video editing equipment."
