$6,000 per feed as a ratio to market cap is Krazy but good krazy, esp when backed up with users, revenue and profit. Topix is a great business. I realised they were bought ages ago by the newspaper group (with the founders keeping 25% which i forgot because hey it's less than 50%), but didn't realise it's current valuation on VC round was $300M. (so founders seem to, tell me, are still running it like a semi-independent po·lyg·a·mous entity ?)

"Despite all that, getting $15 million for giving up little less than 5 percent is at a damn good valuation. The company, with the new money, wants to double the 25-person staff over the next year...it also plans to develop and market new consumer news services, as well as increase its exposure among online news consumers. It certainly needs exposure… "
