Yahoo7 Combined 10% More Traffic than Previously

Neil Shoebridge in AFR today page 14, talks about Yahoo7.com.au's success to date; Cross-media works when driven top down, and video is the new battleground children - but the 2.0 video plays in Australia (searching, tagging, subscribing, uploading, sharing) have not yet launched downunder. Suffice to say, where there is smoke there is fire, : The net : consumers are clicking and downloading on their all you can eat broadband packages. And their demand is insatiable - they need more product than can be provided by Yahoo7. And they need more filtering and aggregation tools. Maybe there needs to be an independent place where some Channel Seven clips and home videos can be uploaded ? Time to rip the PVR into H264. Stay tuned by round 16 of AFL frk's. Some stats :

- Yahoo7.com.au has 10% more traffic than yahoo.com.au and seven.com.au used to combined. Although Yahoo7.com.au does just revert to au.yahoo.com as yahoo.com.au used to.
- Yahoo7 have grown from 90 to 120 employees
- Websites for Ch 7 programs like Lost is driving traffic
- 2.7 million video streams in March, up 10%+ from February
- "Personal computer to phone capability is a logical extension. We'll be doing something in coming months." (The Australian Business Section Page 1) Mr Lund.
- "Rich media is the new battleground on the internet." - Mr Lund Yahoo7 interim CEO.
