The Problem : Blogging + Web 2.0 : This is how the year started, and how it will end. Getting into the blogging, rss and Web 2.0 "conversation" worldwide (plus becoming a very late to market Mac addict), which has been a real blast, after all the dot-gone years. Part Two, which is 2006 is localising, building, importing, and exporting the best of these ideas for Australia, and the many Asia-Pacific regions around here that are similarly behind. Just like when the Yahoo guys did a search engine conference in "Middle" America, and were amazed at the "early" 'life cycle' of the industry, similarly, its not Silicon Valley where I live. But there are over 10 million active internet users, many multi-billion dollar media and telecommunications businesses, and just enough large cap online companies (worth more than $500m) that combined with Google's mkt cap and increasing share of ad dollars, that Web 2.0 will be a hive of activity here in 2006. I for one will be working over summer (Dec-Feb here) making this happen, and I hope my competitors are at the beach. (not that there is much competition yet, I'm expecting the me-toos here soon, in fact any competitors - email me !)

The Solution : Combination of Build and Import the best of Web 2.0 to Australia and AsiaPacific, dealing with only the best people. Order of Opportunity Rollout - RSS Search, RSS Reader, RSS Sharing, Web, Image + Video Tagging + Sharing, Local Communities and Meta-Classifieds Search. Region by Region : Aust/AsiaPac/UK.... Then there is the 2006 First Australian Blogging/RSS/Web 2.0 Conference, setting up the leading AsiaPac Tech Blog, some venture catalyst/seed investing opportunities, innovative media company partnerships... Our first product out over Summer... It will be 'Loco ;)
